I believe I am making effective progress toward the goals I have set. My actions so far have been effective in this progress. I have taken an active role in my building to promote the use of technology tools. In addition, the course I am currently taking at Walden is exposing me to many new strategies for integrating digital tools. For example, this week we are collaborating on a Wiki as a project. Through this authentic experience I am invigorating my skill with this particular tool and can pass it along for use with my students. I am using my aggregator account to follow the blogs of my classmates and staying up to date with their postings - again, an authentic learning experience that can easily translate for use with my students.
I still need to find grant sources and apply for them. I am finding some great sites that compile possibilities through my social bookmarking site. One good site is http://www.grantsalert.com/grants.cfm?id=4&gid=33360.
I feel like I am making good progress so at this point I don’t feel the need to modify my actions. In retrospect they seem quite doable.

Molly,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are making progress with your goals that you have set. Good work! I feel that it is easier to implement new technology tools into the classroom once we have experienced them first hand. In the past, if someone would have suggested to me to have my elementary students create a wiki, I would have thought it would be too challenging. Now that we have already created one in another course and are currently working on one in this course, I know that it would be a practical skill for my students to learn at a young age. It is good to hear that you have set challenging, yet achievable goals. Keep up the good work!
Shannon
Molly,
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing out that using these blogs and the discussion threads through Walden is collaborating using digital tools. I am doing more for my GAME plan than I thought.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the words of encouragement! It is true that we are doing much more to develop out skills than we realize. In the attempt to be true to the authentic nature of our experiences, I am truly trying to develop lessons that I will really use with my students. All the networking and sharing we are doing will be great to continue once we finish our program!
